Arrive & Immigration
~45 min · YUL
  • Follow signs to passport control immediately on landing
  • Have onward boarding pass and hotel/address ready for questions
  • Primary Inspection Kiosks (self-serve) speed up entry for most visa-exempt travellers and Canadian citizens. Queues can still run 30 to 60 min on peak afternoon arrival banks.
Transit into the city
30 min

747 Express bus runs 24/7 between the airport and Berri-UQAM metro in 45 min, every 20 to 30 min, CA$11.25 (includes a 24h Montreal transit pass). Metro green and orange lines connect onward to downtown and Old Montreal.

Explore Montreal
~2h 10m of free time
We recommend you stay airside: Trudeau processing can fluctuate and transit time adds up quickly.
Return to YUL
30 min back to airport
  • Leave enough buffer - trains run to a schedule and can be delayed
  • Buy your return ticket in advance if possible
  • Set an alarm 65 min before your departure gate closes
Back through security
~35 min buffer before gate
  • Re-entry security at YUL typically takes 10-20 min
  • Check your gate - it may have changed while you were out
  • Liquids bought in the city cannot pass security - finish or bin them
