Arrive & Immigration
~45 min · BCN
  • Follow signs to passport control immediately on landing
  • Have onward boarding pass and hotel/address ready for questions
  • Schengen-internal arrivals skip passport control. Non-Schengen arrivals use T1 immigration, where eGates are open to EU, UK, US, Canadian, Australian, NZ, Japanese, Korean, and Singaporean passport holders. Peak arrival waves around 10am and 2pm can push queues past 45 min.
Transit into the city
35 min

Aerobús A1 from T1 and A2 from T2 run non-stop to Plaça de Catalunya every 5 min (35 min, €7.25). Rodalies R2 Nord train from T2 reaches Passeig de Gràcia in 27 min (€4.90, every 30 min). Metro L9 Sud connects both terminals to the city in about 32 min (€5.70 single airport fare).

We recommend you stay airside: Barcelona airport transit and security lines can add up quickly.
Return to BCN
35 min back to airport
  • Leave enough buffer - trains run to a schedule and can be delayed
  • Buy your return ticket in advance if possible
  • Set an alarm 70 min before your departure gate closes
Back through security
~35 min buffer before gate
  • Re-entry security at BCN typically takes 10-20 min
  • Check your gate - it may have changed while you were out
  • Liquids bought in the city cannot pass security - finish or bin them
