At BKK or DMK, stay airside—BKK is vast and crowded so eat and settle early, while DMK is smaller but hectic, making food plus staying near your gate the safest plan.
We recommend you stay airside: Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi is distant and traffic is unpredictable; Don Mueang is closer but still risky.
A short city visit is only possible from BKK or DMK if traffic is unusually light.
Pick a central base and move slowly. Riverside or old town areas are great for food, temples, and short walks. Heat, traffic, and crowds can be intense, so plan indoor breaks and avoid peak rush hours when returning.
