Arrive & Immigration
~25 min · NCE
  • Follow signs to passport control immediately on landing

  • Small single-runway airport, immigration is generally fast even on peak days. Terminal 2 handles most international long-haul and has automated PARAFE e-gates for EU, UK, US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand passport holders.
Transit into the city
25 min

Tram Line 2 runs from both terminals to Jean Médecin and Port Lympia in about 26 min, every 8 min from 05:30 to 23:55. Airport tram tickets are €10 one-way from terminal machines. A free internal shuttle connects Terminals 1 and 2 every 5 min.

Explore Nice
~2h 35m of free time
Take tram line 2 from Terminal 2 to Jean Medecin stop (35 minutes, EUR 1.70). Walk 5 minutes east to the Promenade des Anglais. Spend 30 minutes on the beach and the seafront walkway. Head back at the 90-minute mark. If you have 5 hours, add 45 minutes in the Old Town: walk east along the promenade from the beach to Vieux Nice.
Return to NCE
25 min back to airport
  • Leave enough buffer - trains run to a schedule and can be delayed
  • Buy your return ticket in advance if possible
  • Set an alarm 65 min before your departure gate closes
Back through security
~40 min buffer before gate
  • Re-entry security at NCE typically takes 10-20 min
  • Check your gate - it may have changed while you were out
  • Liquids bought in the city cannot pass security - finish or bin them
