Frankfurt is a Lufthansa workhorse, not a destination airport. Long terminal walks, occasional bus gates, and immigration queues during Lufthansa peak banks are standard. The S-Bahn earns its keep here: about 10 minutes to Frankfurt Hbf from the terminal station, trains every 15 minutes, no faff.

Traveler notes

Transit to City

- ICE (Long Distance): direct trains to Hbf in about 10 minutes from the Fernbahnhof station between terminals.
- Taxi: 20-40 minutes depending on traffic.
- Buffer: Back at FRA 3h long-haul, 2h Schengen; add time during peak Lufthansa banks.
