Felipe Angeles International Airport

AIFA sits 46 km north of Mexico City, but the Tren Felipe Angeles commuter rail, which opened in April 2026, now covers the distance: 43 minutes to Buenavista station, then another 15-20 minutes on the Metro to the historic centre. The airport is modern and uncrowded, with solid airside food options and two Priority Pass lounges. Teotihuacan is roughly 20 km by taxi, making the pyramids a compelling option for layovers of six hours or more without the city traffic.
