Taoyuan is a well-run airport with one of Asia’s better public transit connections. The Airport MRT Express runs from both terminals to Taipei Main Station in 35 minutes, every 15 minutes or so, and costs NT$160 (roughly $5 USD). The Commuter service takes about 50 minutes but stops at more stations and runs NT$130. Immigration takes longer than the airport suggests on a good day, and significantly longer during peak arrival banks. Build that into your timeline before committing to a city plan.
