KAIA’s main terminal is clean and modern – one of the better airport interiors in the region. Prayer facilities are excellent and distributed throughout. Check Saudi transit visa requirements before assuming you can clear immigration; rules vary significantly by passport and have changed in recent years, so verify before you travel. If you do clear, the Haramain rail from the airport station to central Jeddah runs in about 15 minutes for 65 SAR and is reliable. Immigration can take 45-60 minutes during peak times, particularly around Hajj season when the airport operates at maximum capacity.
