CUN processes an enormous volume of resort traffic, which means immigration lines either move fast or grind completely – it depends entirely on which flights landed in the past hour. Terminals 3 and 4 handle most international flights and are comfortable, with decent food post-security. The ADO bus to downtown Cancun runs from outside T2, T3, and T4 for around MX10 and takes about 25 minutes; skip the airport taxis unless you’re going to the Hotel Zone. Most layovers here get spent in the terminal – downtown is a real Mexican city worth visiting if you have 5+ hours and want to skip the resort experience.
