Phuket airport handles a lot of tourists and the international terminal shows it, especially in high season when immigration on arrival can run 30 to 60 minutes or more. Two separate buildings: Terminal 1 (international) and Terminal 2 (domestic), connected by a short walkway. Know your terminal before you head to the gate, because they’re not connected airside. The airport sits at the north tip of the island, so most beach areas are 30 to 60 minutes south.

The best reason to arrive with time to spare is the Coral Executive Lounge in T1, which is Priority Pass eligible and has both shower access and decent Thai food options. Miracle Lounge is a fallback for PP holders but has no showers.

Luggage storage is available at arrivals at around THB 100 to 200 per bag per day. Use official taxi counters. Touts operate landside and will overcharge. Grab is available and usually cheaper. If you’re exiting immigration, plan to be back at HKT at least 3 hours before an international departure to account for queues.
