T1 is one of the better European airport terminals – clean, well-organized, and with real food after security. The Aerobús to Plaça de Catalunya runs every 5 minutes for EUR 7.25 and takes 35 minutes; it’s the fastest and most reliable way in. EU and Schengen passport holders clear immigration in minutes at e-gates; everyone else should add 30 minutes. If you have 6 hours, go into the city – the Gothic Quarter and La Barceloneta are both within walking distance of the bus stop. The metro L9 is cheaper (EUR 5.70) but requires a change and takes longer than the Aerobús.
