Your layover plan

Arrive & Immigration
~40 min · DPS
  • Follow signs to passport control immediately on landing
  • Have onward boarding pass and hotel/address ready for questions
  • Foreign arrivals can hit 60 min during the afternoon long-haul wave. e-VOA holders use a separate fast lane, apply online before flying. No automated gates for non-Indonesian passports.
Transit into the city
20 min

No rail at DPS. Metered Bluebird taxis from the official rank inside arrivals reach Kuta in 15 min (Rp 75,000), Seminyak in 30 min (Rp 150,000), Ubud in 90 min (Rp 350,000). Grab and Gojek apps are cheaper but pickup is in the parking garage, not curbside.

Explore Bali
~2h 40m of free time
We recommend you stay airside: Bali airport traffic is unpredictable, making short exits risky.
Return to DPS
20 min back to airport
  • Leave enough buffer - trains run to a schedule and can be delayed
  • Buy your return ticket in advance if possible
  • Set an alarm 50 min before your departure gate closes
Back through security
~30 min buffer before gate
  • Re-entry security at DPS typically takes 10-20 min
  • Check your gate - it may have changed while you were out
  • Liquids bought in the city cannot pass security - finish or bin them
