Sabiha Gökçen is Istanbul’s Asian-side airport and generally a more manageable experience than the main IST hub: smaller terminal, usually faster security. The catch is the city connection: buses to central Istanbul take 60 to 90 minutes, and taxis can push past 90 minutes in traffic. Budget 4 hours or more if you plan to leave the airport and return with time to spare.

The Primeclass Lounge is the main pay-in option, accepts Priority Pass, and has showers. It does get crowded during heavy flight banks, so arrive at the lounge early if a shower is the priority.

Turkish fast options (simit, pide) are available in the terminal if you’re not going to a lounge. Free WiFi works but may require registration. If doing a quick Kadıköy trip on 6 to 9 hours, take the bus to the waterfront and leave at least 4 hours before departure to clear traffic and security.
