Religious Accommodations by Airport

Religious accommodations at a glance

Where to find prayer rooms and halal/kosher-friendly options on a layover.

Prayer rooms/quiet rooms

  • Major hubs (e.g., DXB, DOH, IST, SIN, LHR, JFK): usually have multi-faith prayer rooms/chapels airside and landside; follow posted rules.
  • Smaller airports: may have a chapel/meditation room landside only; ask information desk.

Food considerations

  • Halal: Common at Middle East/Asian hubs; some Western hubs have halal options—check restaurant signs or ask.
  • Kosher: Limited at most airports; pre-pack if possible. Some major hubs have packaged kosher meals; verify availability.
  • Vegetarian/vegan: Widely available; look for Asian/Indian or health-focused outlets.

Where to check

  • Airport website terminal guide for prayer room locations and hours.
  • Lounges sometimes have quiet rooms; ask at reception.
  • Maps/app boards inside the terminal can show “Prayer/Chapel.”

Time management

  • Build in time to reach prayer rooms if they are landside.
  • Know security re-entry rules if you leave airside.
