3-5 hours: stay airside

6-9 hours: Centro and Zócalo

Taxi/app to Zócalo. Walk the square, Cathedral and Palacio Nacional exteriors. Tacos at Tlaquepaque or Los Cocuyos (~$8 USD / 150 MXN). Coffee at Café de Tacuba or nearby. Leave Centro 4 hours before departure.

10+ hours: add Coyoacán

After Centro, taxi to Coyoacán. Plaza stroll, Casa Azul exterior if tickets are sold out, churros at Churrería General de la República. Return with a generous traffic buffer.

Getting there and back

  • Taxi/App: $12-20 USD / 200-360 MXN; 20-40 minutes off-peak.
  • Metro/bus: Slower and crowded; skip for tight layovers.
