Bali's only airport — a modern two-terminal complex (International and Domestic) with Balinese architectural touches. Can get hectic during peak season, and immigration queues are notorious. Decent lounges and food once you're through.

Premier Lounge (international) is the go-to for long layovers. Flight Club is more stylish but lacks showers. Domestic lounges close by ~10 PM.

Traveler notes

  • Immigration queues can exceed 60 minutes at peak times (especially VOA line). Arrive early.
  • Visa on Arrival (VOA) available for most nationalities — ~IDR 500,000 ($32 USD), payable by card.
  • Departure tax is included in your ticket price.
  • Mosquitoes are an issue overnight — bring repellent.

  • Recliners and quiet nooks in the international terminal departure area (left of entrance).
  • Novotel Bali Ngurah Rai: Connected via covered walkway between terminals — day rooms available.
  • Hilton Garden Inn: 500m from terminal.

  • Prices are inflated vs. outside — eat before arriving if possible.

  • Premier Lounge and Blue Sky Lounge have showers. No public shower facilities outside lounges.

  • Luggage storage available landside near arrivals; ~IDR 50,000–100,000 per bag per day.

Transit to City

  • Grab/taxi: Kuta ~15 min, Seminyak ~30 min, Ubud ~90 min. Airport taxi desk or use Grab outside departures level.
  • No rail or bus service — road transport only. Traffic can be severe, especially south Bali evenings.
  • Buffer: Back at DPS 3h international, 2h domestic.

  • SIM/eSIM: Telkomsel counters in arrivals; tourist SIM ~IDR 100,000. eSIM (Airalo etc.) recommended.
  • ATMs: Multiple in arrivals and departures; IDR dispensed. Watch for skimmers.
  • Wi‑Fi: Free but often slow and unreliable; consider using mobile data.
