Lima's sole airport and Peru's main gateway. A new terminal opened in 2025, massively expanding capacity with modern facilities. Hub for LATAM and Sky Airline. Located in Callao, about 12 km from downtown Lima but 45–70 minutes from Miraflores due to notorious traffic.

The LATAM VIP Lounge is Peru's best — try the pisco sour. PP holders have Sumaq and Hanaq as solid options in the international terminal.

Traveler notes

  • Lima traffic is brutal — Miraflores can take 45–70 min. Plan departure time carefully.
  • Immigration is generally moderate (15–30 min) but can spike during peak arrivals.
  • The new terminal has improved the experience significantly vs. the old one.
  • Altitude is sea level — no acclimatization issues (unlike Cusco).

  • Taxi: ~40–70 min to Miraflores depending on traffic, $15–25 USD. Use official counters — avoid street taxis.
  • Uber/DiDi: Work from designated pickup zones; similar pricing to taxis.
  • Buffer: Back at LIM 3.5h international, 2h domestic.
